The 2025 Ather 450X electric scooter has gone on sale in India at Rs 1.47 lakh, ex-showroom. The new 450X has gained new features among other changes and here is a list about the same.
New traction control system
The Ather 450X gets a new traction control system with three levels of intervention-Rain, Road and Rally. As the names suggest, the TC’s alertness and intervention can be adjusted based on the mode that’s been selected.
Say, in case of Rain mode, the system will cut in sooner once it detects wheel slip. Given the amount of torque that electric scooters produce and slippery nature of our roads with gravel and what have you, a traction control system adds a layer of safety. This is particularly important in the case of new, inexperienced riders.
Magic Twist
The Ather Magic Twist debuts in the 450X after it was introduced in the450 Apex and the Ather Rizta. One can simply counter rotate the throttle grip to slow down the scooter, without the need to apply the brakes.
This is not just a clever way to slow down an electric scooter but it will also increase brake pad life, if one uses the Magic Twist feature smartly.
Low resistance tyres
Almost every electric vehicle rolls on low resistance tyres to improve range and this is now the case with the new 450X as well. The scooter gets new MRF Zapper N e-Tred tyres that have been co-developed with Ather. These tyres are said to improve the ‘real-world’ range of the scooter by 25 percent, which is a significant amount.
The Ather 450X with the 2.9kWh battery now offers a range of 105km instead of 85km which it did previously. On the other hand, the range of the 3.7kWh battery equipped scooter has gone up to 130km, which is up by 25km.
New colours
The 2025 Ather 450X gets a set of new colours- Hyper Sand and Stealth Blue. In addition to these two new colours, the 450X is available in five colours-True Red, Lunar Grey, Cosmic Black, Space Grey, and Still White.
Higher price
With new features comes a new, higher price tag. 450X 2.9kWh model at Rs. 1.47 lakh, while the 3.7kWh trim retails at Rs. 1.57 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). Opting for the Pro Pack will set you back by an additional Rs 17,000 or 20,000, depending on the battery size.
The Pro Pack, however, offers nifty features like Google Maps, Alexa pairing, WhatsApp notification on dashboard, Ping My Scooter, and live location sharing.
