BMW Motorrad unveiled the C 400 X maxi-scooter. It is the more rugged-looking version of the BMW C 400 GT. Here are all the highlights of the scooter in images.
The design of the C 400 X is quite striking. It takes inspiration from the BMW GS range of adventure bikes. From the asymmetric LED leadlights, with an inset LED DRL to the stubby beak and big windscreen, the C 400 X looks rugged. Not to mention the block pattern tyres that it gets.
The scooter has a steel tube frame that is suspended by a telescopic fork and twin shock absorbers with adjustable preload. The scooter rides on a 15-inch front wheel and a 14-inch rear wheel.
Powering the scooter is a 350cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that makes 34bhp at 7,500rpm and 35Nm at 5,750rpm. The engine is paired with a CVT.
The scooter has a good set of features that includes all-LED lights, dual disc brakes at the front with ABS and a colour TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity.
While the BMW C 400 GT is on sale in India, there is no word from BMW Motorrad India about any plans to sell the C 400 X in our market. That said, the possibility of the company launching the scooter in India next year cannot be ruled out.
