-Based on the BMW C 400 GT scooter
-Gets an edgier design
-Powered by a 350cc, 34bhp, engine
The 2025 BMW C 400 X has been showcased to the world and it joins BMW Motorrad’s Urban Mobility portfolio. The C 400 X is based on the BMW C 400 GT that is on sale in India. Despite being an expensive scooter, it sold in numbers higher than what BMW Motorrad India anticipated. The BMW C 400 X, meanwhile, brings a fresh approach to the table.
When you look at the design of the C 400 X, it takes inspiration from the BMW GS range of motorcycles. This is evident from the asymmetric headlight, the tiny beak under it or the creases and edges on the front and side panels. Even the graphics are reminiscent of the GS. On the whole, the scooter looks different from the C 400 GT.
The scooter is powered by a 350cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that makes 34bhp at 7,500rpm and 35Nm at 5,750rpm. The engine is paired with a CVT and has a new exhaust pipe to conform to current emission norms across the globe.
Coming to the chassis, the scooter has a steel tube frame that is suspended by a telescopic fork and twin shock absorbers with adjustable preload. The scooter rides on a 15-inch front wheel and a 14-inch rear wheel. Braking, meanwhile, is handled by twin 265mm disc brakes at the front and a 265mm disc at the rear. One must note that the scooter tips the scales at 206kg.
In terms of features, BMW offers the C 400 X with all-LED lighting and a new 6.5-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity.
BMW Motorrad could introduce the C 400 X in India to sell alongside the C 400 GT. Expect it to cost between Rs 11.50 lakh to Rs 11.75 lakh, ex-showroom, if it goes on sale.
