BMW Motorrad has unveiled the 2025 edition of its litre-class street bike, the S 1000 R. The German brand has given the motorcycle small yet impactful changes which should make it a more capable offering than before. In that case, let’s take a look at the updates it has received along with its pictures.
While the majority of its bodywork remains the same as its predecessor, the front section has been revamped with the inclusion of a pair of petite, geometrically designed headlamp which make it look menacing.
The engine has received a few internal changes that have bumped the performance. The geometry of the intake ports and the engine mapping have been revised.
At 170bhp, its 999cc, inline-four motor now produces around 5bhp more and the performance peaks at 11,000rpm. The 114Nm torque output at 9,250rpm, meanwhile, remains the same as before.
The engine comes mated to a six-speed gearbox while a bi-directional quick shifter comes as standard. Plus, a quick-action throttle and drag torque control are a part of the factory package.
Other changes to the 2025 S 1000 R include a 4-inch increase in the wheelbase, a shorter license plate holder, and a USB-C charging port present under the seat.
It is available in three colours – Black Storm Metallic, Bluefire, and Light White with M Motorsport graphics. The official launch is scheduled for early 2025 overseas, while deliveries might commence in Q2 2025.
