The new Multistrada V2 has broken cover recently and it is markedly different from the outgoing bike. Here is all that is new.
New design
The design of the Multistrada V2 is an evolution of the outgoing bike. While there is a beak, it appears to be shorter and sharper than the outgoing bike. The headlight and DRLs are also sleeker and mimic the units on the angrier looking Panigale V4.
Some of the plastics around the tank extensions also serve a functional purpose by deflecting some of the hot engine air away from the rider’s legs. The V2’s side tail sections are purely functional and there is enough room to attach luggage.
New engine
The bike is powered by the new Ducati V2 engine. It makes 113bhp at 10,750rpm and 92.1Nm at 8,250rpm. Ducati adds that 70 percent of the torque is available from 3.500rpm onwards. This should allow easy rideability while riding in the city.
Tweaked chassis
The bike employs an aluminium monocoque frame and a steel trellis subframe. It has a fully adjustable Marzocchi USD fork and a monoshock in the case of the standard bike.
The Multistrada V2 S, meanwhile, has semi-active suspension which is electronically adjustable. The bike also has a double sided swingarm.
Electronics galore!
The Multistrada V2 is equipped with a number of electronics. There are five ride modes including a new Wet mode. In addition to this, there is traction control and more. The S variant, meanwhile, gets electronically adjustable suspension. All the settings are accessible using a new 5-inch TFT.
Ducati is expected to launch the new Multistrada V2 in India in the first half of 2025.
