-The V4 S gets a new monoshock with an automatic lowering device
-Rear brake size increased to 280mm
-Updated electronics introduced
The 2025 Ducati Multistrada V4 and V4 S have been unveiled as part of the slew of launches that Ducati has planned over the next few months. Ducati says the Multistrada V4 has received cosmetic, mechanical and electronic updates to enhance the riding experience.
Design tweaks
Starting with the design, the new Multistrada V4 and V4 S get a few visual tweaks, particularly in the way the colours have been painted across the bodywork. The base colours extend from the fuel tank to the extensions as well as part of the beak. When viewed from head-on, the Multistrada V4 appear more aggressive than before.
The silver radiator shrouds are also in a deeper shade, while the V4 decal is written in a bold font, making it hard to miss. Ducati has also gone for a darker shade of greys and blacks for the double-sided swingarm, and some of the plastics to add more contrast to the overall appearance. The LED headlights are also tweaked to offer better illumination
The Multistrada V4 and V4 S are available in the following colours- Ducati Red, Thrilling Black and Artic White.
Updated chassis and electronics
Ducati has made few yet significant changes to the chassis and electronics of the 2025 Multistrada V4 S. The Ducati Skyhook, electronic semi-active suspension now has a sensor in the front fork and a brand new monoshock. The suspension works in association with the new Ducati Vehicle Observer (DVO) system to offer real-time suspension adjustment. Essentially, the sensor in the front fork detects a bump in the road and automatically adjusts the rear suspension to help cushion the rider and pillion, keeping them comfortable.
There’s a new, automatic lowering device on the rear monoshock that lowers the bike when the speed drops below 10kmph. This makes it easier for riders, especially the short ones, to ride the bike at low speeds, say in traffic and place their feet firmly on the ground when they’ve to come to a stop. The system allows lowering of up to 30mm, depending on the load. The bike rises to the predetermined setting once the speed crosses 50kmph.
In addition to these features, Ducati has also introduced a forward collision warning that works in conjunction with the front radar. It alerts the rider about an impending collision by throwing up a warning on the TFT dash.
Other changes to the chassis include a new swingarm pivot position that is raised by 1mm for better anti-squat functionality under hard acceleration, even with full load. The Multistrada V4 S also can be optioned with new forged alloy wheels that are 2kg lighter than the regular alloy wheels. Lighter wheels reduce the effort required to steer the bike, especially in a chicane.
Lastly, the rear brake is bigger at 280mm, helping improve braking performance, especially under full load.
New ride mode
Powering the Ducati Multistrada V4 and V4 S is a 1,158cc V4, Granturismo engine that makes 170bhp at 10,750rpm and 124Nm at 9,000rpm. Ducati has added a new exhaust system and it looks sportier than the out going unit.
With the 2025 model update, the Multistrada V4 gets a new ‘Wet’ ride mode. This mode chops peak power to 115bhp, softens the throttle response and keeps the TC on high alert. This mode, along with the rest of the modes such as Sport, Urban, Touring and Enduro are customisable. Ducati has also introduced the option to customise the semi-active suspension settings individually of the ride modes.
The engine also has a prolonged rear cylinder bank deactivation which shuts off the rear bank even at low speeds and not when the bike comes to a standstill, as was the case earlier.
Improved passenger ergonomics
Based on customer feedback, Ducati has moved the top box rack and pannier rack behind to liberate 20mm more legroom for the passenger. The top box rack is now made of aluminium instead of hard plastic, for a more robust mount.
Availability
The 2025 Ducati Multistrada V4 and V4 S are likely to be available in the Indian market towards the end of this year or early next year.
