-Gets new design
-Likely gets a new engine
-Expected to be showcased at the EICMA
The new Ducati Panigale V2 has been spotted testing abroad. The timing of the pictures surfacing on the internet couldn’t have been any better, with Ducati recently announcing the Panigale V2 Superquadro Final Edition motorcycle. It signals the end of the road for the V2 engine. This indicates that the test bike that has been spotted likely has a brand new engine, built to meet new emission norms. The crankcase of the engine is visibly different from the one seen in the Panigale V2, further fuelling the suspicion that there is indeed a new engine in the works.
Besides this, what is clearly visible is a new design language. The face, for instance, is sharp and aggressive because of the sleeker LED headlights. The turn indicators are located on the side fairing but this, perhaps, is only a temporary addition and the final production bike may get mirror stalk mounted indicators.
The side fairing itself is new with more pronounced cuts and creases. The rider's perch, meanwhile, appears to be wider and more accommodating than on the current Panigale V2. While not visible here, expect to see a different design for the tail section as well as a brand new LED tail light.
As for the chassis, it is too early to say whether the frame is all-new but it could be so. However, one can notice the new swingarm, USD fork and the offset monoshock, positioned in the same manner as on the current Panigale V2. Expect the suspension to be fully adjustable. Other details that are visible include Brembo calipers, new alloy wheels and Pirelli tyres.
The new Panigale V2 is likely to be shown at this year’s EICMA that’s going to be held from 7-10 November.
