Honda has launched the 2025 iteration of the CBR650R, bringing the model back after being off the shelves for a couple of years. While all the details of the new version have been revealed, deliveries are scheduled to begin in February 2025. In the meantime, let’s take a closer look at the key highlights of this motorcycle.
Sportier design
Honda has updated the design of the CBR650R, giving it a sportier and more aggressive appearance. From the front fascia to the tail section, it boasts sharper and more angular design lines, making it look more athletic. The bike is available in two colour options: Grand Prix Red and Matt Gunpowder Black Metallic.
Tweaked suspension
The Showa-sourced SFF-BP USD forks at the front have been revised, featuring distinguished damping characteristics to enhance the bike's stability and comfort. Meanwhile, the monoshock remains unchanged, as does the braking hardware, which includes radially-mounted, dual 310mm discs at the front and a single disc with a floating caliper at the rear.
Additional features
The 2025 CBR650R has been bestowed with a new five-inch colour TFT screen which shows all the crucial information and supports Bluetooth connectivity. Once paired with the Honda RoadSync smartphone application, it facilitates answering calls and access to navigation. Additional features include an assist and slipper clutch, dual-channel ABS, and traction control which is the norm for a motorcycle in this class.
Same inline-four sublimity
Powering the motorcycle is the same 649cc, liquid-cooled, inline-four engine which is revered for its refinement and creamy smooth power delivery. It produces 94bhp at 12,000rpm and 63Nm of torque at 9,500rpm. Transmission duties are handled by a six-speed gearbox.
Price
The new Honda CBR650R is priced at Rs. 9.99 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. Bookings of the bike are open at all the BigWing dealerships across India and deliveries are set to commence next month. It mainly competes against the Triumph Daytona 660.
