The 2025 KTM 250 Adventure was spotted testing in India for the first time, a few days ago. The quarter-litre ADV is based on the same platform as the upcoming KTM 390 Adventure. Here are three key highlights about the test bike.
Styling similar to the KTM 390 Adventure
The new KTM 250 Adventure will bear a similar design to that of the 2025 KTM 390 Adventure. The new ADV will have a rather striking appearance, especially when you look at the vertically stacked headlight, the large fairing and the tall windscreen. Even the fuel tank area looks substantial and adds visual mass to the bike’s appearance.
In contrast to the bulky front end, the tail section is sleeker and has an upswept design. One can also notice the integrated grab handles and the small LED tail light. Even the indicators are LED.
To distinguish the 250 Adventure from its bigger sibling, the 390 Adventure, the former doesn’t have LED DRLs. The colours and decals on the bike are also likely to be markedly different from the 390 ADV.
KTM 250 Duke’s engine to power the ADV
The KTM 250 Duke’s is quite an entertaining and characterful engine. Expect the same engine to power the new KTM 250 Adventure. This engine makes 31bhp and 25Nm and we could see KTM tweak it or change the final drive ratio to suit the ADV application of the bike. Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see how this engine performs given the added weight of an ADV over a street bike.
Cost control
KTM will be mindful of keeping costs in check to price to the KTM 250 Adventure competitively. That explains the presence of an LCD instrument cluster instead of a TFT display on the test bike. It is also seen running on MRF tyres. In fact, unlike the KTM 390 Adventure, the KTM 250 Adventure gets a non-adjustable USD fork.
