The next-generation KTM 250 Adventure was recently spotted testing in India. The motorcycle will be based on the upcoming 390 Adventure and will be launched in India in the coming months. Here’s everything you should know about the new-gen 250 Adventure.
Design and underpinnings
The new KTM 250 Adventure will be underpinned by the same chassis that will be seen on the upcoming 390 Adventure. Even the styling will be identical to its elder sibling. However, there will be some noteworthy differences such as lower-spec tyres and the lack of LED DRLs around the LED projector headlight.
Features
The test prototype of the new 250 Adventure was seen with an LCD instrument cluster, which is the same unit that is used on the Husqvarna Vitpilen 250. However, with the updated KTM 250 Duke recently getting the colour TFT unit, we hope KTM introduces the same in the ADV as well. Besides the display, it is also expected to get a quickshifter, switchable traction control system, dual-channel ABS with supermoto mode, and an assist and slipper clutch.
Engine
The 2025 KTM 250 Duke will be powered by the new 250 Duke’s engine. The 249cc, LC4c engine produces 31bhp and 25Nm of peak torque and comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. KTM may alter the final drive ratio to suit the characteristics of the ADV.
Cycle parts
The KTM 250 Adventure will feature non-adjustable upside-down forks up front and a preload-adjustable rear monoshock. The test bike was seen running on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wire-spoke wheels, wrapped with MRF tyres. Meanwhile, braking tasks will be handled by disc brakes at both ends.
Launch timeline and price
Since KTM is expected to first launch the new 390 Adventure in early 2025, we expect the next-gen 250 Adventure to be launched a few months later. As for its pricing, the new KTM 250 Adventure could be launched at around Rs. 2.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
