- New Katana unveiled
- Gets two new colours
- India launch unlikely
Suzuki has taken the wraps off the new Katana. Launched as a 2025 model, the new Katana gets two new cool colours.
This new Katana was unveiled in Japan and was revealed by the top honcho of the company at the annual Katana meet. The Katana will now be available in Pearl Vigor Blue and Metallic Mystic Silver. Both these colours are likely to replace the current ones in Japan and also other markets.
Mechanically there are no other changes. The bike draws power from a 999cc inline-four cylinder liquid-cooled motor that dishes out 149bhp and 106Nm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Suzuki has also offered a list of rider-aids as well. It includes riding modes, a traction control system, low rpm assist, and a ride-by-wire system.
In terms of styling, the Katana gets a fairly sporty bodywork with its bikini fairing and overall stance like a street fighter. It gets a square LED headlight with the LED DRLs integrated into a centrally mounted horizontal bar. Overall, the design is a mix of modern and retro elements.
The Katana was sold in India for a few months but was later discontinued due to poor sales. It is highly unlikely the Japanese brand would reintroduce the Katana.
