-1,160cc engine tweaked for better low-end grunt
-Overall comfort has been enhanced
-Available in four variants
Triumph has launched the 2025 Tiger 1200 range in India. It is available in four variants including GT Pro, GT Pro Explorer, Rally Pro, and Rally Pro Explorer with prices starting from Rs. 19.39 lakh, ex-showroom.
The Tiger 1200 GT Pro is the more road-biased offering with a 19-18-inch alloy wheel combination while the Rally Pro version is more off-road-centric with 21-18-inch tubeless spoke wheels. Also, the Explorer trims of both models get a 30-litre fuel tank as opposed to the 20-litre tank in Pro variants. Powering all variants of the bike is a common 1,160cc, inline three-cylinder engine with a T-place crank that is claimed to deliver enhanced low-end tractability and responsiveness which has been achieved by tweaking the crankshaft, alternator rotor, and balancer. It produces around 150bhp at 9,000rpm and 130Nm of peak torque at 7,000rpm. Moreover, the clutch has also been tweaked to deliver smoother gear shifts.
Triumph has attempted to improve the riding comfort as well. The seat has a flatter profile now facilitating more space. Moreover, the dampened handlebars and risers from the Explorer trims have been given to the Pro models while the clutch lever has been altered to be longer. Riders can also choose the accessory low seat which brings down the saddle height by 20mm. Further, the ground clearance of GT Pro and GT Explorer variants has been increased by changing the footpeg position. Adding to the overall comfort is the Active Preload Reduction feature which reduces the rear suspension preload by up to 20mm when the rider slows down to a halt.
The Tiger 1200 range continues to be loaded with modern electronic aids and premium cycle parts. The suspension setup comprises a Showa semi-active setup while the braking hardware includes Brembo Stylema monobloc calipers. Other features include cornering traction control with IMU, up to six riding modes, a keyless ignition system, shift assist, adaptive cornering lights, and a seven-inch TFT screen with Bluetooth connectivity. Triumph also offers heated grips and seats along with TPMS as standard on GT Explorer and Rally Explorer models.
