The new Triumph Tiger Sport 660 has been unveiled and features small yet significant changes over the outgoing motorcycle. Here is a quick look at what's new.
Updated safety
Triumph has gone all out to bring the Triumph Tiger Sport 660 up to date with the competition. The bike gets an IMU or Inertial Measurement Unit which adds cornering sensitivity to the traction control and ABS systems.
This feature adds a safety net and ensures riders don’t suffer wheelspin and lose control while powering out of slippery corners, or have to slam on the brakes while leaned over, say to avoid a surprise obstacle. That said, we hope Triumph has refined the TC as the system in the current bike is intrusive and chops power quite aggressively.
More convenience
The Tiger Sport 660 also gets a bi-directional quick shifter as standard. It takes the effort out of executing multiple gear changes over a day of riding.
The bike also gets the My Triumph Connectivity module as standard. By pairing a phone with Bluetooth, riders can view calls and message alerts and turn-by-turn navigation.
New colours
Triumph has introduced two new colours on the bike. These are called Roulette Green and Crystal White.
The rest of the bike remains the same as before. It has a 660cc, inline-three-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that makes 80bhp of power at 10,250rpm and 64Nm of peak torque at 6,250rpm. Triumph is expected to launch the updated Tiger Sport 660 in India early next year.
