Yamaha has updated the MT-07 for 2025. The fourth-generation model has received comprehensive upgrades over the older model and comes with an automatic gearbox. Let’s take a closer look at the 2025 Yamaha MT-07 through this detailed image gallery.
The new Yamaha MT-07 comes with the Y-AMT automatic transmission, similar to the MT-09. The motorcycle gets two automatic modes that take care of the gear-shifting process. While the D mode is designed to offer quicker upshifts, the D+ mode is more suited for spirited riding.
The Y-AMT unit eliminates the clutch and gear levers and the gear-shifting is done through sensors and actuators. You also get a manual mode wherein the rider can manually shift gears via the up and down shift buttons on the left switchgear.
In terms of electronics, the motorcycle comes with a ride-by-wire throttle, switchable traction control, power levels, multiple riding modes, and cruise control. The motorcycle also gets a slipper clutch, while the manual version also benefits from the assist function.
Powering the MT-07 is a 689cc, CP2, parallel-twin motor that makes 72.4bhp at 8,750rpm and a peak torque of 67Nm at 7,750 rpm. As we mentioned earlier, the engine is offered with a six-speed manual gearbox or a Y-AMT.
The new MT-07’s engine has received significant updates. For instance, it gets a revised airbox and new intake funnels, while the ports on the fuel tank elevate the aural experience.
The hardware has been upgraded as well. The chassis is suspended on 41mm upside-down forks and a rear monoshock. The braking system has also been upgraded with a pair of four-piston radially mounted callipers up front.
The 2025 Yamaha MT-07 will be launched in the international markets soon. With Yamaha planning to bring its premium range of motorcycles to our shores, we can expect the Japanese bike maker to launch the new MT-07 in India as well soon.
