- New colour option introduced
- Mechanical specifications remain unchanged
Yamaha has updated its highly popular, small-size sportbike, the YZF R15, for 2025 in Indonesia. The motorcycle has now received smartphone connectivity which has already been available in the India-spec model. Also, the Japanese bike maker has introduced a new full black colour scheme which will be sold alongside the existing blue, grey/black, and grey/silver colour options.
Yamaha has kept it unchanged in all other aspects since it’s already an advanced package for its displacement. In fact, it’s the most feature-packed offering in its class. The standard equipment list comprises a slipper clutch, traction control, dual-channel ABS, and a quick shifter. Moreover, the fully –digital instrument cluster shows all the crucial information along with onboard diagnostics, periodic maintenance reminders, ride tracking, and more.
Powering the motorcycle is a 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that boasts variable valve actuation technology and produces 18.1bhp and 14.2Nm. This unit comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. Underpinned by a Deltabox frame, it rides on 17-inch wheels with USD forks and a monoshock. Braking is handled by a single disc at both ends. It comprises an 11-litre fuel tank and the kerb weight stands at just 141kg.
In India, the prices of the Yamaha R15 start from Rs. 1.83 lakh and go up to Rs. 1.98 lakh, ex-showroom. It competes against the KTM RC 200.
