The wraps are off the 2025 Yamaha YZF-R3 in international markets. The supersport motorcycle has received some significant updates and here is all that is new.
Styling inspired by the new Yamaha YZF-R9
The design of the YZF-R3 follows the same language as the recently unveiled YZF-R9. The new front and side fairings look sharper, and sportier and add some much-needed aggression to the design of the R3.
Styling elements like the center-set LED headlight and the bar-type LED DRLs flanking it are quite interesting. Yamaha has also not gone overboard with the decals and that is a good thing. The bike is available in three colours- Team Yamaha Blue, Matte Stealth Black, and Lunar White/Nebula Blue. The last colour is particularly striking to look at.
New LCD instrument cluster
The Yamaha YZF-R3 gets a new LCD instrument cluster. It is a reverse-type LCD with a neat and clean layout that should be easy to read while on the move. It features Bluetooth connectivity which allows incoming call and message alerts to be displayed on the screen. While a new LCD is welcome, Yamaha should have used this opportunity to introduce a colour TFT display. Especially since the Yamaha R15 gets one.
These changes aside, the Yamaha YZF-R3 remains the same. It has an ultra-sweet, 321cc, parallel-twin engine that produces 41.4bhp and 29.5Nm. The engine loves to rev and feels sporty and entertaining. It is also pretty efficient for a twin.
Yamaha is expected to showcase the new YZF-R3 at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo in New Delhi. The company may launch the bike soon after the Expo.
