Honda Malaysia has launched an upgraded version of the Spacy moped. This two-wheeler was first introduced in 2012 and the revisions have been aimed at sprucing up the product in the hope of enticing new buyers.
Compared to its predecessor, the new Spacy has a chrome plated emblem which enhances the looks as opposed to the earlier colourful stripes. Newly designed halogen headlamps have replaced the outgoing model’s conventional light bulbs and at the rear, there’s a new tail-lamp cluster. A disc brake up front takes care of braking duties along with the tubeless tyres.
Honda’s Spacy retains its earlier 110cc single-cylinder engine mated to the V-Matic transmission. This engine puts out 8.65bhp at 8,000rpm along with 8.27Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. Fuel consumption is pegged at 41.5kmpl. Other features include an 18-litre under seat storage that can conveniently fit a full face helmet, front storage that can fit a 500ml water bottle and a hook located just below the handlebar. The moped comes with a 5.2-litre fuel tank, back-lit keyhole with a magnetic locking system and a brake lock lever function as well.
Honda’s new Spacy is priced at RM4,999 (Rs 76,400) and will be available in three colours: pearl metalloid white, pearl magellanic black and euphoria red metallic.
