The India unveiling of the Benelli BX 250 came to us as a shocker, as we didn’t think DSK Motowheels is serious about supermoto bikes. The company plans to launch the BX 250 in this calendar year, but in the meanwhile, we bring you a picture gallery straight from the 2016 Auto Expo.
The fascia gets a very minimal design but looks good, credit the angular headlamp design. The LED indicators complements it.
The tank is compact, flanked by air scoops that extends towards the front. Just like other supermotos, the mudguard too is long and extended.
The BX 250 is powered by a 249cc single-cylinder liquid cooled engine, which churns out peak power of 25bhp and 21Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox.
The instrument cluster is a basic one with a small screen which shows the speed, tachometer, odometer and tripmeter. Other indicators like neutral, FI, high beam, turn are also present.
Braking is taken care of by 280mm disc in the front and 240mm disc at the rear. Both get two pistons floating caliper.
The BX 250 rides on a 17-inch 100/80 tyre at the front and 130/70 tyre at the rear. With a kerb weight of 135 kg, the BX 250 is surely going to be fun to ride.
In terms of dimensions, the BX 250 is 2230mm long, 860mm wide and 1210mm high. The ground clearance is really good at 270mm.
