Indian Motorcycle is recalling over 23,000 bikes due to a fuel leak issue in US. As per the company, there might be an issue with fuel rail which could get in contact with other components, resulting into a fuel leak.
This recall is applicable to seven models – Chief Classic, Vintage, Chief Dark Horse, Chieftain, Chieftain Dark Horse, Springfield and Roadmaster. All the affected models have been manufactured between April 15, 2013 and July 15, 2016. The Indian dealers will be contacting all affected customers and will ask them to bring their bikes to the service centres. The dealers will install a bracket that will limit the movement of the fuel rail. It will be done free of cost.
Since all the Indian bikes sold in India are manufactured in US, few of them could be a part of this recall. We’ve contacted the company here for their clarification on this issue. However, we’re yet to hear from them.
