Yamaha is gearing up to launch a product next month. The product in question is a motorcycle as per our source.
As per a few Yamaha dealers we spoke with, the new motorcycle could possibly be a 250cc one, with a launch on Jan 25. However, no more information was forthcoming. The interesting bit is the company has been testing a quarter-litre bike in India. It is rumoured to be called the FZ 250.
The prototype that was spied was powered by a single-cylinder oil-cooled engine. This engine churns out 20.7bhp and 20.5Nm in the Brazilian-spec motorcycle. The styling of the bike resembles the current FZ lineup and this quarter-litre bike when launched could add more brand value to this popular range.
The company remains tight-lipped about the new launch – other than confirming that there is a launch in January, it refuses to comment.
