December was the slowest month for most of the two-wheeler manufacturers in India. Lack of demand and demonetisation hampered retail dispatches of all the companies. Surprisingly, research activities on BikeWale continued and there were a few interesting outcomes. Here, we list down the top three researched bikes on BikeWale in December 2016.
Rank 3: Bajaj Pulsar 150
The Pulsar 150 is the highest-selling premium bike for Bajaj. The bike recently got engine and colour updates because of which it was researched a lot. Interestingly, the demand for the Avenger 150 dropped due to the updated Pulsar 150. The 150cc cruiser held the third rank a few times.
Rank 2: Royal Enfield Classic 350
The brand value and its modern-retro styling has helped the Classic 350 be one of the most-researched bikes on BikeWale in 2016. It was at the top of the list for many months but the Bajaj Dominar has taken over its mantle. The Classic 350 still continues to get a lot of demand from metro and rural markets. The highest interest for this bike were seen from Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru.
Rank 1: Bajaj Dominar 400
We aren’t surprised to see the Dominar 400 making it to the top of the list. The combination of excellent pricing and features helped the Dominar 400 to become the most popular bike in December 2016. This rank was previously held by the Dominar’s rival – the Royal Enfield Classic 350 - which has now moved to the second position.
For the first time since its launch, the Honda CB Hornet 160R has not made it to this list.
