Photos of Benelli’s upcoming 750cc parallel-twin streetfighter have been leaked on the internet. Expected to be christened 750GS, the company had first announced its intentions of launching this bike during EICMA last year.
The 750GS is underpinned by a steel trellis chassis, similar to the ones used in the rest of the Benelli range. The new engine is rumoured to be derived from the company’s existing three-pot mill, which powers the TNT 899. It is will get an output of around 90bhp and 65Nm of torque. This new Benelli will share the market space with the likes of the Kawasaki Z650 and the Ducati Monster 797.
While the new parallel-twin middleweight project first took shape in 2006 in the form of the Due 756 concept, it was put on the backburner due to Benelli’s financial woes. Now though, the development is back on track and the motorcycle will go into production early next year. We can expect to see the final production model at EICMA in Italy, later this year.
