Triumph unveiled a comprehensively updated MY17 Street Triple, earlier this year. Featuring a slew of technological updates and sharper styling, the new Street Triple range will go on sale in India over the next couple of months. The 2017 Triumph Street Triple gets an aggressive look with a beefy front end, twin headlamp setup and the exposed twin-spar frame.
It gets a new five-inch TFT Instrument panel which shows speedometer, tachometer, riding mode, gear position, fuel gauge, odometer and trip meter.
While previous Street Triple had to make do with just an ABS, the new bike also gets riding modes, traction control, quick shifter and slipper clutch.
The Street Triple is being offered in three trims – a base S, sportier R and a performance-focussed RS. Apart from different cycle parts, these also get different states of tune.
Triumph has revised the inline triple engine’s construction by increasing the bore and stroke and using a new crank, pistons and barrels.
The engine now displaces 765cc and is mated to a six-speed gearbox. Power output ranges from 111bhp for the S version to 121bhp for the RS.
The Street Triple S rides on a basic Showa suspension setup, the R gets a fully adjustable Showa setup while the RS gets fully adjustable Showa forks and an Ohlins monoshock.
While the Street Triple S gets Nissin callipers up front and Brembo at the rear, the R and RS spec models boast of Brembo callipers at both ends.
Despite having a bigger engine and being Euro IV compliant, the new Street Triple 765 is 2kg lighter than before at 166kg.
