The 2017 Kawasaki Z900 has been launched in India at Rs 9 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), which includes a few accessories. The Z900 is imported from Thailand as a completely built unit (CBU) and will be sold alongside the Z800.
The Kawasaki Z900 draws influence from the iconic Z1 and the GPz900R and is being pegged as a street bike which can double up as a tourer. The new headlamp and bodywork, exposed green frame and the sculpted fuel tank highlight its aggressive character. The Kawasaki Z900 is built around a new lightweight trellis frame. It is offered with accessories like a windscreen and a cowl for the rear seat.
The Kawasaki Z900 is propelled by a new 948cc inline-four engine based on the litre-class Z1000 engine, and delivers 126bhp. Despite being more powerful than the Z800, the Z900 is lighter by 21kg. The Z900 rides on 41mm inverted front forks with adjustable preload and rebound. The rear gets a monoshock with adjustable preload and rebound.Braking hardware consists of 300mm dual discs up front and a 250mm single disc at the rear. ABS is offered as standard.
The Z900 is available in lime green and grey paint schemes. Kawasaki is offering a host of optional touring accessories for the Z900 including panniers, a tank bag and a top box. It will compete against the likes of the Ducati Monster 821, Yamaha MT-09 and the upcoming Triumph Street Triple S.
