The 2017 Hero Glamour has been launched at 61,658 (ex-showroom, Navi Mumbai). It is available in three versions – drum, disc and a fuel injected.
The cosmetics of the Hero Glamour have been revamped, it gets an edgier headlamp, a muscular tank and a sharper tail section. The instrument cluster also gets a new layout. Changes to the new Glamour are more than skin deep. The single downtube frame is new and so is the engine. It is powered by a BS IV-compliant 125cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine, delivering 11.4bhp and 11Nm of torque. The power output is 2.3bhp and 0.7Nm higher than the outgoing model. With a 3kg advantage over the previous bike, we can expect the new Glamour to be better in terms of performance. Hero’s proprietary i3S system is offered as a standard, which should ensure better efficiency. Like the previous Glamour, the new model is available with a carburettor as well as a fuel-injection system.
The new Glamour is available in four dual-tone paint schemes – blue/black, red/black, silver black and dark red/black. The front disc brake is an optional extra, costing Rs 2,000 over the price of the standard variant. It competes with the Honda CB Shine, TVS Phoenix, Bajaj Discover 125 and Yamaha Saluto.
