Spy pictures reveal that a bigger version of the BMW F700 GS could be on its way as early as 2018. The images show that the bike has undergone changes similar to the ones seen on the F850 GS which also was spotted testing a few months ago. Added displacement of 50cc could increase power by about 15bhp, bringing the power to 90bhp as compared to the current F700 GS’s 75bhp. This bump in power would take it closer to the Triumph Tiger 800’s power figure of 94bhp.
The chassis is all-new on the F750 GS. While a cast aluminium frame replaces the steel trellis frame found on the current F700 GS, the subframe is also new. On the F750 GS, the exhaust and final drive have switched sides and it also gets a new curved swingarm. One of the most visible changes is the fuel tank. The underseat tank fuelled from near the pillion seat has been replaced with a conventional one up front to narrow the rear end of the bike. This not only gives the bike a more beefed-up look, but also helps optimise weight balance.
The BMW F750 GS is expected to be unveiled at the EICMA motor show in Milan this year and the bike will be available for global markets in 2018.
