BMW Motorrad has been working on an all-new S1000RR and the whole world knows about it. But now, for the first time, a prototype has been spied testing somewhere in Europe revealing a lot of information of the bike.
The most obvious changes is the design. The assymetrical headlamps have made way for a much sharper unit.. The panels are much smaller that has reduced the overall proportions of this supersport motorcycle. BMW has ditched the fairing mounted indicators for the ones mounted on the rear-view mirrors.
The chassis is all new, so are the swingarm and monoshock setup. The front forks look identical to the new ones. However, no adjusters are visible making us believe that the bike will be equipped with Dynamic ESA. The tail unit is also new, but is shorter and looks more aggressive. The 2019 model will be powered by a new engine that is rumoured to churn out over 205bhp of peak power. This motor should be Euro 5 complaint as this emission norm kicks in 2020.
We're expecting BMW to take the wraps off this highly anticipated bike at the 2017 EICMA show. It will go against the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R, Yamaha YZF-R1, Suzuki GSXR-1000 and the most awaited V4 bike from Ducati.
