Just a few days ago, we told you about the leaked documents that revealed Royal Enfield’s new variants launches. The company has finally launched the new versions of its highest-selling model, the Classic 350 and the Classic 500.
The Classic 350 gunmetal grey and the Classic 500 stealth black have been priced at Rs 1.59 lakh and Rs 2.05 lakh (on-road Chennai) respectively. Both the paint schemes are matt in nature and it is bound to make these bikes more appealing. Other than the new colour, both the bikes are equipped with disc brake at the rear. Currently, the standard versions of the Classic 350 and the Classic 500 are loaded with a 280mm disc with two-piston caliper in the front and 153mm drum at the rear.
Mechanically there are no changes. The Classic 350 continues to be powered by 346cc single-cylinder motor that produces 19.8bhp at 5250rpm and peak torque of 28Nm at 4000rpm. The Classic 500 gets its power from a single-cylinder 499cc motor that churns out 27.2bhp at 5250rpm and peak torque of 41.3Nm at 4000rpm. Both the bikes are equipped with a five-speed gearbox.
It is good to finally see the Chennai-based company equipping its motorcycles, which costs more than a lakh, with a rear disc brake. We’re expecting the standard versions of the both the bikes to get this equipment too in the near future.
