Yamaha has revealed new colour updates for the 2018 XSR700, XSR900 and FJR1300.The new paint schemes on the XSR series pays homage to early Yamaha motorcycles.
The XSR900 gets a ‘racing red’ paint job with a grey stripe on the tank to replicate the 1980’s XS850. The new paint job will be available from December this year. The motorcycle uses a 847cc in-line three engine which produces 115bhp and 87.5Nm of torque.
On the other hand, the XSR700 gets a maroon colour option that is reminiscent of the 1968 XS650, Yamaha’s first four-stroke motorcycle. This bike is powered by a 689cc parallel twin engine that churns out 75bhp and 68Nm of torque. It will be available alongside the grey colour option next month.
The 2018 model of the FJR 1300 tourer will feature a blue paint scheme which will be made available from November this year. The bike sports a 1298cc liquid cooled, in-line four cylinder engine that produces 145bhp and 138Nm of torque and is mated to a six-speed gearbox and final shaft drive.
Yamaha has been focusing on mass market scooters and motorcycles in India and it is unlikely that it will launch these bikes here anytime soon.
