Ducati has taken the wraps of its updated streetfighter, the Monster 821. Inspired from the Monster 900, the 2018 Monster 821 is the first of the five new Ducatis in the 2018 model year line-up.
This Italian motorcycle has got visual and technology updates that makes it more desirable. The main highlight of this 2018 model is its design that has been inspired from the 1992 Monster 900. The styling is sleek, gets new fuel tank and tail section. The headlight also gets a major update, making the bike look quite attractive from the front. The silencer looks very identical to the ones on the Monster 1200S.
In terms of features, the 2018 Monster 821 gets the famous Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) and the Ducati Multimedia system as accessories. The motorcycle continues to get the TFT display which provides ride information like gear selector, clock and speed. Just like the most of the Ducatis, this bike is loaded with Ducati Traction Control (DTC), ABS and three riding modes, sport, touring and urban.
The 2018 model continues to be powered by the same 109bhp liquid-cooled L-Twin motor. With a maximum torque of 86Nm at 7750rpm, the Monster 821 is known for its low and mid-range torque.
Ducati India used to sell the Monster 821 in the country. But took it off the market earlier this year as it wasn’t BS4 compliant. We’re expecting the Indian arm to bring this Monster to India early next year as a completely-built-up(CBU) unit. The price is expected to go marginally up for the 2018 model. We hope the company offers the new yellow paint scheme for the Indian market as it looks fantastic.
