BMW Motorrad is going to unveil four new models at the 2017 EICMA Show in Italy, next month. The German manufacturer has put up a new teaser video giving us a preview of what to expect.
While the fast-paced teaser doesn’t give a clear glimpse of the motorcycle, it can be identified as a GS model. The sleek bodywork and the chain final drive hint that the model might be the BMW F850 GS, which has been spotted testing a couple of times. It is also evident that the GS gets an endure mode and switchable ABS which allows rear wheel lock-up and slides. Apart from impressive off-road capabilities, this new model gets a LED headlamp and a colour display for the instrument console. The motorcycle rides on dual-sport Metzler Karoo tyres.
The new F850 GS is reported to get an 850cc parallel-twin engine with 270-degree firing order, unlike the current F800 GS’ 360-degree firing order. The output is expected to be around 100bhp, which should give it an edge over the Honda Africa Twin and the Triumph Tiger 800. However, Triumph also seems to have a trick up its sleeves for the EICMA, which is previewed through its new Tiger teaser.
