Kawasaki has launched the Ninja 400 and the supersport Ninja ZX-10R SE in the US.
Prices for the Ninja 400 start at $4,999 ( Rs 3.2 lakhs) for the non-ABS version, $5,299 (Rs 3.4 lakhs) for the ABS and $5,499 (Rs 3.5 lakhs) for the KRT edition model. The Ninja 400 sports an all-new design and draws styling cues from the Ninja ZX-10R. The Ninja 400 is eight kilograms lighter than its predecessor with a kerb weight of 167kg. It is built around a new chassis that claims to offer better stability than the Ninja 300 and houses a 399cc parallel-twin engine. This engine produces 44.8bhp and 38Nm of torque.
The Ninja 400 is expected to arrive in India by early 2018 and will compete against the KTM RC 390, Benelli 302R and the upcoming TVS Apache RR 310 and Yamaha R3.
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R SE is priced at $21,899 (Rs 14.10 lakhs). The bike is an upgraded version of the already potent Ninja ZX-10RR which is avilable in India. The Ninja ZX-10R SE sports a new Showa semi-active suspension. This unit is able to detect suspension changes every millisecond, while the IMU and ECU on the bike adjust every 10 milliseconds. The bike also sports seven-spoke forged aluminium Marchesini wheels. It sports a 998cc in-line four cylinder engine that produces 197.2bhp and 113.5Nm of torque with a two-way quickshifter.
The Ninja ZX-10R SE is likely to make its way to India too and will rival against the BMW S1000RR, Suzuki GSX-R1000R and the Yamaha R1M.
