BMW F850 GS Adventure spotted testing

The BMW F850 GS Adventure has been spotted testing. Going by the spy images, it is likely to get a few upgrades to make it more capable, off-road.

The F850 GS Adventure seems to get wider tank shrouds that incorporate revised cooling intakes. This also suggests that it could be using a bigger fuel tank as compared to the 15-litre unit on the standard bike. The design of the front ‘beak’ is also different and the bike gets a taller and upgraded wind screen. This wind screen is made of three-pieces that can be customised according to the rider’s built and style. 

The test mule was equipped with fog lamps, new engine protection bars and an engine sump guard. The F850GS is also likely to get side panniers as standard equipment. Powering the bike will be the same 853cc parallel-twin engine that produces 95bhp and 83Nm of torque. However, given all the extras fitted onto the bike, it will weigh more than the standard bike’s 229kg kerb weight.

BMW Motorrad is expected to unveil the bike at the 2018 EICMA in Italy and the bike would arrive on Indian shores a few months after. For now, the manufacturer will launch the F850 GS along with the F750 GS at the upcoming Auto Expo in India.
