Hero Motocorp has finally unveiled its highly awaited adventure touring motorcycle, the Xpulse, at the 2018 Auto Expo.
The motorcycle gets various features to make it off-road capable. It sports an off-road style front mud guard, visor, hand guards, an engine sump guard and a high raised exhaust outlet. To further boost its off-road ability, the Xpulse gets 190mm of suspension travel for the front and a 10-step adjustable monoshock at the rear with 170mm of suspension travel. It also gets 220mm of ground clearance.
The bike also sports a full-LED headlamp and a digital instrument cluster that can be connected to your phone via Bluetooth. Apart from the basic information, the console shows navigation and caller display and gets ‘eco mode’ indicators.
The Xpulse is powered by the same 200cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine as the Xtreme 200R but with revised gearing. This unit produces 18.4bhp and 17.1Nm of torque via a five-speed gearbox. It gets a 14-litre fuel tank capacity with a range of 450km; an average fuel-economy of 32kmpl.
The Xpulse is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.30 lakh in the Indian market, although it doesn’t have any direct rivals.
