Bajaj will finally launch the rumoured Avenger 180 Street in the next few weeks. According to our sources, this cruiser will be priced at Rs 83,987 (ex-showroom Bengaluru).
This 180cc Avenger will only be available in Street version and will carry design cues from the Avenger 150, one of the best selling Bajaj products. But we're expecting the Avenger 180 to use different paint schemes and new decals to differentiate it from the Avenger 150. In terms of features, the Avenger 180 is expected to carry over the same cluster, exhaust and seats from the Avenger 150 to keep costs in check. Bajaj plans to discontinue the Avenger 150 Street once the Avenger 180 Street is available at all Bajaj showrooms.
In terms of mechanicals, we're expecting the Pune-based manufacturer to use the Pulsar's 180cc motor. This engine is an air-cooled single-cylinder and churns out 17bhp and peak torque of 14.22Nm. This motor is mated to a five-speed gearbox but expect the gearing to be different to suit the bike's cruising nature.
The new Avenger 180 will compete against the Suzuki Intruder 150. While the Avenger is known for its traditional cruiser look and value for money, the Intruder is a looker, thanks to its bulky and big bike design.
