Hero unveiled its first ever 125cc scooter, the Maestro Edge 125 at the 2018 Auto Expo. The scooter is aimed at the urban youth and is expected to be launched sometime this year. It is likely to be priced at a premium of Rs 5000- Rs 7000 from its 110cc sibling. Until then, you can have a look at the scooter in our detailed photo gallery-
The Maestro Edge 125 is based on the Maestro Edge 110 and borrows styling cues from the latter.
The scooter sports an edgy design language with sharp lines running all-through the bodywork.
While the Maestro Edge gets an LED tail lamp, it misses out on LED lighting for the headlamp.
Powering the scooter is a 125cc single-cylinder engine that makes 8.7hp and 10.2Nm of torque.
The scooter also comes equipped with the i3S system, a feature earlier available only on the manufacturer’s motorcycles.
The Maestro Edge 125 borrows its part-digital part analogue instrument cluster directly from its 110cc sibling.
Braking duties are taken care of by a drum brake setup on both ends as standard and the company will offer the scooter with a front disc brake as option.
The Maetro Edge 125 rivals the Honda Activa 125 and the Suzuki Access 125 in the Indian market.
