Honda has set up a new racing team, called the Idemitsu Honda Racing India, to compete in the Asia Road Racing Championship. The team has signed Rajiv Sethu, Anish D. Shetty and Taiga Hada for the 2018 season.
While 20-year-old Rajiv has competed in ARRC before, 24-year-old Anish would be a rookie in the 2018 season. Both the riders will competes in the Production 250cc class, astride Honda CBR250R race bikes. While Rajiv and Anish are Indians, the team has also fielded Taiga, a 23-year-old Japanese rider, in the SuperSport 600cc categort. Taiga had finished third in the previous season of the ARRC in the same category. While Ten10 Racing is looking after rider management, the techincal aspecis are being managed by T-Pro Innovation, a Japanese firm.
The first round of the ARRC took place last weekend at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram, Thailand. While Rajiv and Anish failed to score any points, finishing 22nd and 25th, Taiga scored 15 points by finishing 9th. The second round of the ARRC will be conducted at the Bend Motorsports Park in Australia between April 19 and April 22.
