The Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT was showcased for the first time in India at the 2018 Auto Expo. The manufacturer is expected to launch the adventure tourer by early 2019 with a price tag of around Rs 5 lakhs- Rs 5.5 lakhs. Until then, you can ogle at the bike in the photo gallery we have compiled here-
The V-Strom 650 XT sports the same design language as its bigger sibling the V-Strom 1000.
It is equipped with knuckle guards, engine sump guard, crash guards and a tall, 3-way adjustable windscreen.
The XT variant rides on spoke wheels; 19-inch in front and 17-inch at the rear wrapped in dual-purpose Bridgestone Battlax Adventure tyres.
Suspension duties on the adventure-tourer are taken care of by conventional telescopic forks up front and a pre-load adjustable monoshock at the rear.
Powering the bike is a 645cc, V-Twin engine that produces 70bhp at 8,800rpm via a six-speed gearbox and final chain drive.
The braking setup consists of 310mm twin discs held on by Tokico calipers for the front and a single 260mm disc with a Nissin caliper for the rear.
Electronics package on the Vstrom 650 XT includes a three stage traction control system, Suzuki’s Easy Start System and an ABS unit as standard.
With a 20-litre fuel tank capacity, the Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT has a kerb weight of 216kg.
The bike is also available in a more road-biased version with alloy wheels, however we expect the XT version to be launched first.
Once launched, the Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT will face direct competition from the Kawasaki Versys 650 and the upcoming Benelli TRK 502.
