BMW 9Cento Photo Gallery

BMW Motorrad unveiled an adventure-touring concept called the 9Cento at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in Italy. The concept will be the base for the manufacturer’s future adventure sport motorcycles. Here is the detailed gallery of the BMW 9Cento.

The 9Cento derives its styling from the BMW S 1000 XR with its tall stance and sharp front end. However, the 9Cento gets symetrical headlmaps unlike the former.

While the concept’s design language is radical, we can expect the production version to be toned down.

The bike gets LED lighting for the front and rear with a ‘U’ shaped DRL and twin ‘C’ shaped LED taillights under the seat.

The 9Cento gets panniers that attach to the seat via an electromagnet beneath the seat for easier fitting and removal.

BMW has decked the top of these panniers with cushioning therefore providing additional space to the pillion seat.

The frame has been reinforced with CFRP (carbon-fibre reinforced plastic) to decrease the overall weight of the bike.

Powering the 9cento is a retuned version of the 853cc parallel-twin engine from the F750 GS and F850 GS available in India. 

To increase its touring capabilities, BMW has equipped the 9Cento with a tall windscreen along with a long travel unit for the front and rear.

It also gets a sharkfin-like spoiler in front of the rear tyre, likely to add to the aesthetics of the bike.

BMW is likely to unveil the production version at the upcoming EICMA along with the 2019 S1000RR.
