- Positioned as a premium scooter.
- Based on the Access 125.
- Competes against the Honda Grazia and TVS Ntorq 125.
Suzuki has launched their premium scooter in India, the Burgman Street at Rs 68,000, ex-showroom, Delhi.
Built on the underpinnings of the Access 125, the Burgman Street sports a completely different appeal. It borrows the maxi-scooter like design language from its bigger sibling, the Burgman 650 which is sold in international markets. The Burgman Street gets a full-LED headlamp setup along with turn indicators and a small windscreen integrated in the edgy front end.
The instrument cluster is an LCD unit that displays speed, odometer, two trip meters, clock, fuel level and oil change indicator. Powering the Burgman Street is the same 124cc engine from the Access 125. This motor produces 8.6bhp and 10.2Nm of torque and is mated to a CVT gearbox. Suzuki has equipped the scooter with a front disc and rear drum brake along with CBS (combi-brake system) as standard. It gets a 5.6-litre fuel tank with a 21.5-litre underseat storage capacity. It will be available in three colours – black, grey and white.
The Suzuki Burgman Street faces competition from the TVS Ntorq 125 and the Honda Grazia. Deliveries for the scooter will commence in the next few weeks.
