BMW G 310 GS ride photo gallery

The smallest member of BMW Motorrad's GS family, the G 310 GS, is now on sale in the Indian market. It is based on the G 310 R streetfighter and is targeted at those who want an everyday bike, which can also perform touring duties and a bit of off-roading. The G 310 GS draws inspiration from the flagship GS model – the R 1200 GS. The raised fender with front ‘beak’, raised tail section and the fairing give it familiar look. 

The narrow profile, raised handlebar and the tall riding stance make the G 310 GS comfortable to stand up and ride as well. 

The instrument console gets a digital display which shows gear position, fuel consumption, range, and average speed along with other regular functions. 

At 169 kilograms, the G310 GS is 11 kilograms heavier than the G310 R. This is down to the revised and reinforced chassis and the fairing. 

At the heart of the G310 GS is a 313cc water-cooled single-cylinder engine, which delivers 33bhp and 28Nm of torque. It is mated to a six-speed gearbox.

It rides on 41mm inverted front forks and a preload-adjustable rear monoshock. The suspension travel of the GS has been increased as compared to the G 310 R. 

The G 310 GS gets 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels. Brake setup consists of a 300mm front disc and 240mm rear disc, with ABS offered as standard.
