- Marks Hero’s re-entry in premium commuter segment
- Dispatch to start next week
- Priced at Rs 89,900 (ex-showroom, Delhi)
Hero MotoCorp will commence nationwide delivery of the Xtreme 200R from next week. While the Xtreme 200R is priced at Rs 88,000 in the north-eastern states, it will set you back by Rs 89,900 in Delhi (both prices are ex-showroom).
The design language of the Xtreme 200R is an evolution of the one in the Xtreme Sports. The front gets an edgy headlamp with twin LED position lamps and a black visor. The instrument console consists of an analogue tachometer paired with a digital display which integrates a speedo, fuel gauge, odo and dual trip meters, and a clock.
The Xtreme 200R is powered by a 199cc single-cylinder engine which delivers 18.2bhp and 17.1Nm of torque, and is mated to a five-speed gearbox. The brake setup consists of a 276mm disc up front and a 220mm disc at the rear with Nissin callipers. A single-channel ABS is offered as standard.
The Xtreme 200R marks Hero MotoCorp’s re-entry in the premium market space. It competes directly against the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V and the Bajaj Pulsar NS200, although with such a competitive pricing, it is sure to eat into the sales of the 160cc bikes too.
