- Scrambler 1100, Special and Sport launched in India
- Priced between Rs 10.91 lakhs and Rs 11.42 lakhs
- Bookings have begun at all Ducati showrooms
Ducati has finally introduced their biggest Scrambler, the Scrambler 1100 in India. It gets a launch price of Rs 10.91 lakhs for the standard variant. The Special model is priced at Rs 11.12 lakhs and the Sport at Rs 11.42 lakhs (ex-showroom).
The Scrambler 1100 takes most of its design inspiration from its younger sibling, the Scrambler Icon Urban. But this motorcycle gets twin-underseat exhaust, more aluminium components and a different number plate holder. This bike is available in three variants, standard, Scrambler 1100 Special and Scrambler 1100 Sport. The Scrambler 1100 Special gets a grey paint scheme, spoke wheels, a different handlebar, brown seat, gold fork tubes and a brushed aluminium swingarm. The Scrambler 1100 Sport on the other hand gets Ohlins suspension, Termignoni exhausts aluminium wheels, retro-themed seat and a black paint scheme with yellow highlights.
The Scrambler 1100 is powered by a 1079cc L-Twin engine that produces a maximum power of 86bhp and peak torque of 88.4Nm. This motor is mated to a six-speed gearbox and also sports a slipper clutch. The Scrambler 1100 gets 320mm dual discs at the front and a disc at the back. It has a slew of electronic aids like a five-level traction control system, three riding modes- Active, Touring and City. It also gets an inertial measurement unit (IMU) along with cornering ABS.
The Scrambler 1100 competes with the BMW R Nine T Scrambler but the German is priced really high. This makes the Scrambler 1100 range a direct rival to some Triumph and Harley-Davidson bikes. The bookings for this new range have begun at all Ducati showrooms.
