Aprilia presented a surprise at the 2018 EICMA in the form of the RS660 concept.
The bike uses a new 660cc, parallel-twin engine derived from the Tuono V4’s 1107cc mill. While the Italian manufacturer has not revealed any details about this motor, it is expected to produce around 105-110bhp power. This engine is said to be a platform for an upcoming enduro and streetfighter motorcycle.
The RS660 concept’s aggressive design language is heavily derived from the bigger RSV4. It gets the distinctive tail section and a slightly more glaring triple headlamp setup. The RS660 concept sports the aero winglets which debuted on the 2019 RSV4 and is highly possible to appear on the production version. It also appears to get a TFT dash similar to the RSV4. Aprilia has also equipped the RS660 concept with carbon fibre components and a red finished engine. However, the production version is expected to skip out on those.
The Italian manufacturer says that the RS660 offers a comfortable riding position as it gets slightly higher handlebars and lower set foot pegs. We can expect the production version of the RS660 to arrive at the 2019 EICMA and be available in the Indian market by 2020.
