- Royal Enfield is gradually fitting ABS in all its motorcycles
- It recently brought out the ABS version of the Classic 350 Gunmetal Grey
Royal Enfield has launched the ABS version of the Thunderbird 350X. While the non-ABS model retails at Rs 1.56 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai), the new bike with the safety feature demands a premium of around Rs 6,000. The company is gradually introducing ABS in all its models since, from 1 April 2019, all motorcycles with over 125cc engine need to have ABS, as per the upcoming government regulation.
The Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X and 500X are the mordernised versions of the standard bikes with blacked out cycle parts, flat and wide handlebar, alloy wheels, tweaked seat and trendy colour options. All the other elements on the motorcycle remain unchanged.
The Thunderbird 350X is powered by a 346cc, air-cooled motor that churns out 19.8bhp of power and 28Nm of torque. It is mated to a five-speed gearbox. Suspensions include 41mm telescopic forks upfront and twin gas-charged shock absorbers at the rear. A 280mm disc on the front and a 240mm disc at the rear handle the task of braking.
The Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X rivals against the likes of UM Renegade Sports S and Bajaj Dominar 400 in India.
