Jawa Forty Two- What else can you buy

The Jawa Forty-Two is the slightly modernised verion of the Jawa and is priced at Rs 1.55 lakhs (ex-showroom). Here's a list of the motorcycles you can buy at a similar price point.

Let's begin with the Forty-Two's sibling, the Jawa standard. The bike shares its 293cc, single-cylinder engine with the former. This unit produces 27bhp and 28Nm of torque. You can get your hands on the Jawa for Rs 1.64 lakhs. 

If you are looking for other motorcycles reminiscent of the good 'ol days, Royal Enfield has your back with four options. There is the Classic 350 available in two variants; the Gunmetal Grey and Classic Signals. While the Gunmetal Grey gets a rear disc brake and is priced at Rs 1.48 lakhs, the latter benefits from an ABS unit and retails at Rs 1.61 lakhs. 

You can also have two iterations of the Thunderbird 350; the standard and 350X. The standard bike gets oodles of chrome all over. On the other hand, the 350X is a contrast and sports blacked-out components for a custom look. It also rides on alloy wheels and tubeless tyres, a first for Royal Enfield. he standard and 350X are priced at Rs 1.49 lakhs and Rs 1.56 lakhs respectively. All four Royal Enfield bikes in this list are powered by a 348cc, single-cylinder engine that produces 19.8bhp and 28Nm of torque. 

If you want something modern, the Indian market offers three bikes. There is the KTM 200 Duke priced at Rs 1.5 lakhs. It is powered by a 199cc, single-cylinder engine that produces 24.6bhp and 19.2Nm of torque and is mated to a six-speed gearbox. Bajaj offers the Dominar 400 for a price of Rs 1.49 lakhs. The touring focused bike uses a perimeter frame that houses a 373cc, single-cylinder motor that puts out 34.5bhp and 35Nm of torque. This unit is mated to a six-speed transmission and comes with a slipper clutch as standard. The bike also comes equipped with a dual-channel ABS as option which is priced at Rs 1.63 lakhs. 

Another such bike is the Mahindra Mojo UT300. It is powered by a 294cc, single-cylinder engine that 22.5bhp and 25.2Nm of torque and is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The bike retails at Rs 1.53 lakhs.
