- TRK 502X, TRK 502 launch in early 2019
- Both will be assembled in India
- Will go against Kawasaki Versys 650, Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT
It’s confirmed! Benelli India will launch their most awaited bikes, the TRK 502X and the TRK 502 in the first quarter of 2019. This announcement was made during the relaunch of its three bikes – 302R, TNT 300 and the TNT 600i.
Benelli along with its new Indian partner Mahavir Group’s Adishwar Auto Ride India plans to go aggressive with India in the next few years. The company has lined-up many bikes for India which will be launched over a period of time. The company decided to bring in its TRK range first as there’s a growing demand for such bikes.
It made sense for company to launch the TRK 502X and the TRK 502 together as it will widen its customer base. The TRK 502 is a touring model with 17-inch alloy wheels and road-biased tyres. The TRK 502X is an adventure bike that gets spoke wheels, a 19-inch wheel in the front and 17-inch at the rear with dual-sport tyres. Other than this, the rest of the cycle parts are common for both the bikes.
The TRK 502X and the TRK 502 are powered by a 500cc parallel-twin engine which produces 47bhp and 45Nm of torque. To boost its touring ability the bike gets a 20-litre fuel tank capacity. The bikes get 50mm upside down front forks and adjustable rear monoshock while braking is handled by a pair of 320mm front discs and a 260mm rear disc along with the dual-channel ABS.
We are expecting both the bikes to be priced between Rs 4.7 lakhs and Rs 6 lakhs ex-showroom. This pricing strategy is likely to help the company capture a good share of the adventure and touring middle-weight segment. These bikes will go against the Kawasaki Versys 650 and the Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT.
