Yamaha Motors India is working on Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster for its FZ and YZF range. This new tech will be seen on the facelifted and the upgraded versions planned for the future.
According to our sources, the Japanese maker will equip its future bikes with the Bluetooth-enabled clusters to entice the growing young buyers. The company has realised the need of such systems as the Indian buyers are more tech-friendly and would love to integrate their smartphones onto the bike. Along with this system, there will be a mobile application that will track various details like overall distance covered, maximum speed achieved, trip meter, nearest Yamaha service centres.
This Bluetooth feature is likely to first come with the facelifted FZ V 2.0 range, followed by the FZ25 and the Fazer 25 facelifts. This feature will push the pricing a bit, but Yamaha believes that the customers will be ready to pay a premium for such features.
The Japanese manufacturer has also decided to exit the mass market motorcycle segment and will focus more on the premium 150cc and above space. The volumes side will be taken care of by the scooters like the Fascino and the Ray series.
