- 300 TT Cafe Racer to hit production line
- Likely to be launched in India post 2020
- Will be made in India
Honda has decided to take the 300 TT Cafe Racer to production line next year. This motorcycle was unveiled to the world as a concept at 2016 Bangkok Motor Show.
According to our sources, the company decided to make production variant of this bike after it received very good response from the fraternity. The neo-sports design along with the café racer concept helped this motorcycle get good response.
The 300 Café Racer is based on the CB300R and the CB300F. It uses the same frame and the 286cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled motor. However, the sub-frame and the swingarm are different. This engine makes the same amount of power and torque. But the six-speed gearbox will get revised ratios.
The interesting bit here is the Indian arm of Honda is looking to launch this bike in India. In fact, the Japanese maker has just started taking bookings for the CB300R. The CB300F is also likely to be launched in India but this is expected to happen post 2020, once the BS-VI norm kicks in. Honda plans to make these bikes in India, along with a few other premium bikes and export it to the world. The economies of scale will help them price these bikes competitively.
