- Husqvarna brand launch in India this year
- Svartpilen 401, Vitpilen 401 will be made in India
- More models to be shown this year
Bajaj Motorcycles will introduce the much waited Swedish motorcycle company, Husqvarna in India this year. This development was confirmed by Rajiv Bajaj, CEO, Bajaj Auto, at the side-lines of the new brand identity launch.
The top honcho went on to say that they have half a dozen models coming under the Husqvarna brand. However, didn’t reveal more details on that front. But the world knows that two Husqvarna bikes, the Svartpilen 401 and the Vitpilen 401 will be made at Bajaj’s Chakan factory. These two lifestyle bikes will also be sold in India.
These entry-level Husqvarnas are based on the KTM 390 Dukes. The main frame, engine and the gearbox will be borrowed from the 390 Duke. However, the engine will be retuned to suit each bike’s nature and character.
If the top honcho of the company says there are half a dozen models coming in, then we believe Husqvarna will unveil some more models at the 2019 EICMA.
